De afdeling Epidemiology and Data Science (EDS) levert een belangrijke bijdrage aan het Amsterdam Public Health instituut door het uitvoeren van cohortonderzoek in niet-klinische populaties, onderzoek naar leefstijl en voeding, onderzoek naar de effectiviteit van kankerscreening en vaccinatie en het mede leiden en organiseren van het programma Methodology. Het onderzoek van de afdeling EDS is ondergebracht in 7 onderzoekssecties.
