Epidemiology and Data Science

One of the main goals of the department of Epidemiology and Data Science (EDS) is to conduct excellent scientific research that contributes to the improvement of healthcare.

The Department of Epidemiology and Data Science (EDS) is active across three pillars: Research, Consultation, and Education:

  1. Research: We initiate, independently or in collaboration with other departments, epidemiological, methodological, and statistical research.
  2. Consultation: We provide consultation services to researchers and collaborative partnerships within Amsterdam UMC.
  3. Education: We provide education and training to medical students and (early-career) researchers.

Research

The Department of Epidemiology and Data Science (EDS) plays an important role in ensuring the quality of research conducted at Amsterdam UMC.

Consultation

EDS Consult provides methodological and statistical consultation to researchers in the preparation, analysis, and reporting of their research.

Education

The EDS department provides a coherent educational program for the bachelor’s and master’s programs of VU and UvA, as well as within the Amsterdam UMC Doctoral School.
